Big Baller Brand CEO LaVar Ball made a shocking revelation when he recently linked up with content creator N3on. Ball shared with N3on that he and his wife of nearly 30 years, Tina Ball, have separated.

“You know, with my wife, Tina decided to go her own way, that’s why you don’t see her right here,” LaVar said, via Yoxic. “But she want to go do something else, that’s fine with me. We had our run. So even though she had the stroke, and getting older… she was always beautiful in my eyes, until you say, ‘I want to go do something else.’ Now you’re not as beautiful to me again.

“The fact that if you decide to go this way, I’mma go that way, that’s fine,” LaVar added. “It is what it is, man. And like I said, anytime you can find somebody you can stay in love with for a long time or for one day or whatever, if you can witness that love, that’s good. I had that with her. And I found somebody else, but it is what it is.”

LaVar, who had his right foot amputated in 2025, didn’t share any more information on the subject. When N3on asked who the new woman in his life was, the 58-year-old made it clear he had no interest in revealing.

“No need to worry,” LaVar replied.

LaVar and Tina first met during their time at California State University. They were both basketball players and eventually started dating. LaVar and Tina then tied the knot in 1997, and they welcomed their first son, Lonzo, in October that year. The couple would have two more sons, LiAngelo, born in 1998, and LaMelo, born in 2001.

The Ball family would burst into the spotlight in the mid-2010s, thanks to LaVar. He was the ultimate hype man for Lonzo, who had emerged as one of the brightest young prospects in the U.S. at the time. LiAngelo and LaMelo would turn into household names as well, but Tina flew under the radar. She appeared to be the polar opposite of LaVar, and now that they have split, it seems unlikely we’ll be hearing from her again.

Who Is Tina Ball?

Tina was born on Dec. 11, 1967, in Miami, Florida, to Robert and Catherine Slatinsky. She attended Alta Loma High School in Alta Loma, California, where she made a name for herself with her basketball prowess.

Tina would then head over to California State University, where she crossed paths with LaVar. She’d also play four seasons for the Golden Eagles, but didn’t go pro. Tina would instead spend much of her professional career at Vernon Middle School. She started off as a physical education teacher there and made her way up to athletic director.

It was only in 2017 that Tina ended her 24-year tenure at the school, and it wasn’t by her choice. She suffered a major stroke in February, and while she recovered, she continued to deal with aphasia, which affects one’s ability to communicate. Tina would then work as the lead designer for the Big Baller Brand, but it’s unclear if she still holds that position today, especially following this split.

LaVar sure appears content with his situation today, and you’d hope Tina is as well.
