Miami Heat superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo unexpectedly created one of the most viral moments of the offseason after a food tasting with popular streamer NEON took a wrong turn in a recent trip to Greece.

The pair had spent several days livestreaming, as Giannis took N3on and his fans through a look at Greek culture, local attractions, and food. But there was one meal which stole the spotlight.

During a stream, NEON was eating a traditional Greek dish,  Souvlaki, and asked Giannis an important question.

NEON: “There’s no pork in this right?”

Giannis Antetokounmpo: “You don’t eat pork?”

NEON: “No, brother, I’m Muslim.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo: “I ain’t gonna lie to you… there’s pork in there.”

NEON: “How could you brother? I was fu**ing that s**t up. I need to spit. Oh my god, my mom is gonna kill me.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo: “This is live?”

NEON looked stunned as he tried to spit his food out as social media exploded with viral clips.

But this short video doesn’t tell the full story. It is still unclear if NEON knew what was in the meal beforehand or if this was a staged incident. Neither side clarified the situation, leaving the internet to only speculate.

A few viewers expressed concern as pork is strictly prohibited under Islamic dietary laws. Some fans saw it as an honest mistake between two people sharing a meal, as Giannis immediately answered truthfully when he was asked the important question.

The viral incident was not the only highlight to come from Giannis’ livestreams in Greece.

During one of those streams, Giannis spoke about his recent blockbuster trade to the Miami Heat, after spending 13 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis did admit he had concerns with the risks involved while also saying that he could see himself returning to Milwaukee one day.

The Bucks also confirmed that they will retire his iconic No. 34 jersey after his departure, and Giannis will wear a new number with the Heat.

Still, none of these headlines went as viral as fast as the simple one-sentence during lunch. Because sometimes, the biggest offseason story has nothing to do with basketball.
