This 2026 NBA offseason has seen quite a few big moves by now, but the biggest one remains the Miami Heat acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks. The Heat had repeatedly come up short in their pursuits of superstars in recent years, but have finally gotten their big name now.

To land Antetokounmpo, the Heat had to give up a fair bit of draft capital and a lot of players, including Tyler Herro. Herro had spent the first seven seasons of his career in Miami, and it appears he is a bit bitter about being shipped out of town. The 26-year-old threw some shade at Antetokounmpo and his former teammate Bam Adebayo on his spam account on Instagram on Thursday.

Antetokounmpo and Adebayo not being good shooters is why they are not seen as a great fit offensively. These two are both great defenders, though, and should turn the Heat into one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. They definitely didn’t make a mistake by acquiring Antetokounmpo, and are unlikely to have too many regrets about losing Herro. He’s a very good player, but isn’t an irreplaceable piece.

While Herro sharing this picture alone wouldn’t have ruffled too many feathers in Miami, some DMs have also been leaked now. The one-time All-Star can be seen taking shots at Adebayo in them.

“You should get paid $60M to be a top tier defender on some nights? I’m just wondering.”

Adebayo was Herro’s teammate for all of his seven seasons with the Heat, so this is surprising. Also, the big man made $37.1 million in 2025-26, compared to $31 million for the guard, so there wasn’t a big difference in salaries. You wonder where Herro got that $60 million from.

“I’m just saying should an elite defender be making $60M a year?”

We had never heard of any tension between Herro and Adebayo, but there might have been some. This definitely adds spice to the Heat-Bucks clashes next season, provided Herro stays in Milwaukee.

The Bucks will reportedly listen to offers for Herro. They are very much going to be in rebuild mode after parting with Antetokounmpo. They sent him and Bobby Portis to the Heat for Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, the No. 13 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft (Nate Ament), unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a pick swap in 2030, and a 2033 second-round pick.

The Bucks should be able to get a decent haul for Herro if they move him. The Milwaukee native averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game for the Heat in 2025-26.

Herro took a step back after being named an All-Star in 2025, but that can be attributed to injuries. If Herro stays healthy and has a big enough role in the offense, expect him to put up big numbers next season.
