The biggest name available without a doubt is LeBron James.
After ending his eight-year run with the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron became the most sought-after free agent on the market. As many as 12 teams are reportedly interested, but only a few appear to be realistic landing spots.
The Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers are viewed as frontrunners, while the Golden State Warriors remain in the hunt. Until LeBron makes his decision, the rest of the league is essentially waiting.
James Harden is another big name, but his situation is far less dramatic. Harden declined his player option with the Cavaliers, but he is expected to return on a longer deal.
Draymond Green is also in a similar situation. Green also declined his player option, but he is also expected to return on a team-friendly, longer-term deal.
Among the younger stars, Jonathan Kuminga has been generating a lot of interest. After the Atlanta Hawks declined his team option, several teams have been linked with the athletic forward, including the Lakers.
The restricted free agent class has three big names. Bennedict Mathurin and Peyton Watson are expected to return to the Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets respectively, as both teams will likely match any offer they get.
But Jalen Duren’s exit from the Detroit Pistons is almost sealed as extension talks have stalled. Duren is reportedly looking for sign-and-trade deals as he is seeking a max contract.
Rui Hachimura is already drawing attention. Reports have linked him with the San Antonio Spurs, while other teams also appear interested in the 28-year-old forward.
The veteran market remains deep. Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal and Khris Middleton are still without a team. They might have been All-Stars in their prime, but they will be expected to fill different roles this time around.
Kelly Olynyk, Matisse Thybulle, Gabe Vincent, Larry Nance Jr., Ziaire Williams, Bruce Brown, Gary Trent Jr., Jordan Clarkson, Nick Richards and Andre Drummond are among proven rotation players who could make an impact on playoff teams.
The remaining list includes Seth Curry, Josh Okogie, Brandon Williams, Javonte Green, Aaron Holiday and Ochai Agbaji, as teams continue looking to fill out their benches.
Free Agency generally cools down after the first few days, but this year’s class still has a few big names that change the outlook of the league. LeBron’s decision will remain the big talking point, but there will be a few players who will become some of the most valuable signings over the 2026-27 season.
